It has been an exciting year so far for us at GK Elite! We have announced our partnership with Under Armour®, launched our Cirque du Soleil Collection, and participated as the exclusive vendor at the 2013 Junior Olympic National Gymnastics Compulsory Workshops in Orlando, FL and Reno, NV in early June. These workshops are held to provide participants with a clear understanding of the 2013-2021 USA Gymnastics Women's Junior Olympic Program. Workshops include concepts, compulsory exercises, text interpretation, and skills techniques. All coaches who attended received W311 University Credit and all judges earned their Continuing Education Clinic credits. A few coaches were lucky enough to win some very exciting prizes, from GK!

Above are the winners from the Orlando, FL Workshops. Each day, GK hosted events that offered these exclusive prize packages. Our booths were flooded with gymnasts and coaches while we released our Under Armour® Catalogs and showed some of our Cirque du Soleil Collection. Featured above, Jennifer Plecs from Deary's Gymnastics, and Jessica Sedgwick (no photo) from Prattville, YMCA received a  giveaway for 2 FREE Cirque du Soleil ticket vouchers good towards 2 tickets to a Cirque du Soleil show valued at $200.  GK Elite was proud to award Kelly Hill from JamJev Gymnastics $500 in SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS on up to ten leotards. Also featured above Jenn Laake with TGC Gymnastics received the FREE Under Armour® Coaches Pack including a polo shirt, warm-up set, and backpack for up to five coaches valued at $1,200.

Our Reno, NV Compulsories Workshops were also a huge success! Again our booths were flooded with gymnasts and coaches so eager to see our Under Armour® and Cirque du Soleil Collections. Our proud winners of the Cirque du Soleil tickets were Dawn Mosteller from Rising Stars Gymnatics in photo, and Tracy Green from River City Gymnastics.

It was a wonderful celebration Tuesday, June 11th acknowledging GK Elite's employees and all of their hard work in our recent partnership with Under Armour®. Dan Casciano, President of GK Elite Sportswear expressed his heartfelt gratitude to over 400 employees in the preparation and release of our Under Armour® Catalog. Under Armour's Director, Athlete Services & Event Merchandising, Mark Graff spoke highly of Elite Sportswear and acknowledged Under Armour’s excitement on our new partnership. Executive Vice President of Corporate Relations and Design, Kelly McKeown showed her enthusiasm as well, "We are excited to have launched the Under Armour catalog.  The company luncheon was a great way to show our entire company how much we appreciate all of their hard work in this endeavor, and to showcase the National Team apparel that we design and manufacture in conjunction with Under Armour. We look forward to a successful journey over the next eight years of our partnership!"

"You could certainly feel everyone's excitement in the crowd. It is a huge accomplishment and stepping stone for us", said one employee. The celebration continued throughout the day with an outdoor picnic catered by Konopelski Catering, a local caterer. Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs were served among the staff, and a traditional cake in celebration of this momentous event.

As part of its ongoing support of the sport of gymnastics, GK supplied the participants of USA Gymnastics T&T JumpStart program with gymnastics apparel for their January 12-13th camp at the Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas.  The JumpStart Program "identifies future elite athletes at a young age and educates their coaches on proper fitness and skill development. Under Armour & USA Gymnastics today announced that Under Armour, Inc., the Baltimore, MD-based leader in athletic performance gear, will provide performance apparel, footwear, and accessories for the USA Gymnastics athletes, coaches, and staff for the next eight years, through the 2020 Olympic Games.  This is the brand’s first sponsorship of a national governing body for a summer Olympic sport.

USA Gymnastics' Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T) Olympic Development Program (ODP) is a bridge between the Junior Olympic and Junior Elite levels. The program provides a training camp, coaches' education, and an ODP team named based on ranking from the ODP Divisions at three competitions. The 2012 Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions kicked off on Saturday, September 8, 2012 in San Jose, California.  According to USA Gymnastics, the Tour "promises to be unlike any gymnastics tour ever produced, providing fans with a high-flying, dynamic experience that will celebrate the sports' beauty and skill. Bigger and better than ever, the show's format pairs elite gymnastics skill with modern performance art that pushes the boundaries of athleticism and is sure to keep fans cheering for more."

On Wednesday, August 22, 2012, U.S. Senator Pat Toomey and U.S. Representative Jim Gerlach visited GK and were impressed with what they saw.  Sen. Toomey and Rep. Gerlach were given the grand tour of GK's manufacturing facility and saw first hand all of the intricate steps involved in crafting the best gymnastics apparel in the industry. 

The Lawmakers started where all GK apparel begins - in the design department.  They then walked through each department getting a glimpse of the pattern making, cutting, embellishing, sewing, and inspection processes.  Both admired the specific skill sets of GK employees necessary for crafting gymnastic apparel. Afterward, Toomey said, "Elite Sportswear shows that manufacturing is still thriving in this state and America.  [GK] is an example of a company that used innovation to target their market." 

GK is immensely proud of the fact that every one of its gymnastics leotards, for the beginner athlete or a gold medalist, is Made in the USA.  Gerlach touched on this fact as well saying, "We need to put in place the right policies that will allow [GK] to compete effectively and stay in the United States."

Each year USA Gymnastics hosts the National Congress & Trade Show and each year GK is there.  This year was extra exciting with the Olympic Trials going and GK was front and center at the show with their super-sized booth!  The best of GK gymnastic apparel was on display.  All of our gymnastic leotards were showcased for coaches, gym owners, athletes, and fans to touch and see up close.  Lots of people were excited to see a leotard that they had on order.  Others were looking for inspiration for their next design or purchase.  Many people were checking out the latest Back To School Workout Essentials leotards.  From Special Order to In Stock, Ultimate Brilliance to GK Couture, GymTek to GKids - there were lots of gymnastics leotards to ooh and ahh over.  Our new Engineered Art line and the unbelievable Free Sequinz Promo had everyone talking.

The Junior National Developmental Gymnastics Team attended a special camp at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 16-20, 2012.  Dusty Ritter, JO Program Manager, directed the camp assisted by members of the USA Gymnastics Jr. National Coaching Staff.  Twenty-eight gymnasts, ages 10-13, were invited from the Future Stars Championship/Evaluation that was held this past fall.  All athletes at the camp were outfitted with GK Gymnastics Warm Ups designating them as 2012 Team Members. 

Many of the current Junior and Senior National Team members were once part of this strategic gymnastic development and education program.  GK Elite Sportswear is a proud supporter of the USA Gymnastics Future Stars program.

The country's best Level 10 gymnasts met and competed at the 2012 U.S. Women's Jr. Olympic National Championships at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, Virginia on May 11-12, 2012.  Just under the elite level, Level 10 is the highest level in the Jr. Olympics program.  Athletes from each of the eight USA Gymnastics regions came ready to compete.

Continuing a now ten-year tradition, GK supplied gymnastic apparel for the JO athletes including a long sleeve gymnastics leotard and a warm up.  GK representatives were on site in Virginia to hand out the apparel to the athletes.  The athletes were very excited to receive their GK box containing the weekend's wardrobe!

Each athlete received GK's Classic Jeweled Tank Leo Style 3599, from their region in Black Nylon/Spandex, White Sparkle, and one of eight beautiful Mystique fabric colors.  The tank leotard was embellished with their region number in silver sequinz.  For competition, GK supplied the athletes with a Classic Square Neck Long Sleeve Gymnastics Leotard Style 4804, made of Black/Nylon Spandex, coordinating Mystique fabrics, and embellished with Clear Crystals on the front chest.  GK also supplied warm ups for all of the athletes made of Black Stretch Woven, White Stretch Woven, and White Tech Mesh, with their region number on the front and the JO logo on the back of the warm up jacket.

GK. Choice of Champions.

From May 7th through 12th, athletes from across the country descended on Cincinnati, Ohio for the P&G U.S. Men's Junior Olympic Championships at the Duke Energy Center.  This USA Gymnastics event features competition for regional teams, all-around, and individual apparatus.  The event culminates with the Level 9 and Level 10 Championships toward the end of the week long event.  The Junior Olympics are a qualifier for Level 10 gymnasts to advance to the Visa Championships - set this year for June 7-10 in St. Louis, Missouri. 

GK continued its charitable support of the Junior Olympic Men's Program with its donation of all of the gymnastics apparel for the competitors.  Each athlete received GK's Men's Gymnastics Competitive Shirt Style 1946 with a U back, strong color insets at shoulders with piping and bold back design, Men's Straight Leg Gymnastics Shorts Style 1817, and a GK Warm-Up in Black and Platinum DryTech.  Nine different colors were used to signify each region competing.
