The Maverick All Star Tumblers' Level 5 Power Tumbling Team out of Weatherford, TX, looked great as they swept the awards stand at the State Championship in their brand new GK leotards!  The team had five individual State Champions, two team awards and even qualifiers for Nationals.  Way to go Maverick All Star Tumblers!

Is it possible for a girl to fly?  If you are Charlotte Drury, the answer is YES! Charlotte, a Senior Elite Trampolinist and member of the USA Gymnastics National T&T Team knows what it takes to achieve her level of success and stands by the fact that GK truly is the Choice of Champions.

GK proudly sponsored The Nastia Liukin Cup for the fourth consecutive year.  This year's competition took place on Friday, March 1st, at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts after an exciting lead up of qualifying competitions as part of the Nastia Liukin Cup Series.  A select number of gymnasts from each invitational advanced to the Nastia Liukin Cup.  Alex McMurtry of Midlothian, Virginia/Richmond Olympiad Gymnastics, won the all-around title Friday night after an exciting come-from-behind finish. This was McMurty's third straight Nastia Liukin Cup appearance, but this year she posted a 38.450 for the win.  Aja-Monet Sims of Clermont, Florida/Brandy Johnson's, 38.175, and Samantha Partyka of Katy, Texas/Champions Gymnastics Academy, 38.075, took second and third. 

GK was excited to provide each participant with a Nastia Liukin-designed tank leotard, competition leotard, and warm-up. In addition to their gymnastics apparel, each athlete got to meet and have their photo taken with Nastia and received 2 tickets to the 2013 American Cup.  Click here for some great photographs of Nastia handing out the GK gymnastics apparel to the participants.

For training, participants received a GK tank gymnastics leotard with a classic neck line and elegant strappy back. The workout leotards were either Berry Slither with Black Mystique applique and binding, or Black Mystique with Berry Slither applique and binding.  The competition leotard followed suit with equally classic styling.  Each long sleeved leotard was either Berry Slither with Black Mystique applique or Black Mystique with Berry Slither applique.  All of the leotards were perfectly finished with the GK Nastia Liukin logo.

The athletes received a beautiful Black Velvet and Silver Mystique warm up jacket and coordinating black velvet warm-up pant.  The back of the warm up jacket was embellished with the Nastia Liukin Cup name and logo.

Proceeds from the event go to the Nastia Liukin Fund, a charitable fund within the National Gymnastics Foundation with the goal of partnering with fitness-oriented programs for young people and supporting clubs that aid athletes who need financial assistance to remain or become involved in gymnastics.

Last weekend, the newly minted women's European Tour team swept the awards at the Jesolo Trophy winning 13 individual medals in both the senior & junior competitions, including seven gold medals. GK is very proud to partner with Under Armour in manufacturing gymnastics leotards for the awesome group of athletes who make up the National Team.  To top things off, Team USA also won the senior team title.

The men of the U.S. National Team stepped on to the competition floor at the 2013 American Cup in new Under Armour gymnastics apparel manufactured by GK Elite Sportswear.  Jake Dalton of Reno, Nev./University of Oklahoma posted a 89.398 for the first place win.  Both Dalton and his teammate, Danell Leyva of Miami/Universal Gymnastics, looked great in their Royal Blue, White, & Navy Blue Stretchtek gymnastics apparel with both the Under Armour logo and the iconic National Team circle of stars logo.

The 2013 American Cup provided the perfect venue for the premiere of the U.S. National Team's new Under Armour gymnastics competition apparel.  GK Elite has long supported the sport of gymnastics and is honored to partner with Under Armour in manufacturing national team gymnastics apparel for the next eight years.  Katelyn Ohashi & Simone Biles brought home the 1st and 2nd place win for the U.S. at the competition and 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist Kyla Ross was on hand for a beam exhibition.

After premiering Under Armour podium training apparel, the ladies stepped out on competition day in their new Under Armour gymnastics competition leotards and brought home the top two prizes.  Katelyn, Simone, & Kyla all looked beautiful in their long sleeve competitive gymnastics leotards with Berry Mystique bodice, Berry Mesh sleeves, and Steel Mystique appliques over bodice and sleeves.  Brilliance SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS scattered over the front of the leotard and sleeves provided the perfect amount of sparkle.

As part of its ongoing support of the sport of gymnastics, GK supplied the participants of USA Gymnastics T&T JumpStart program with gymnastics apparel for their January 12-13th camp at the Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas.  The JumpStart Program "identifies future elite athletes at a young age and educates their coaches on proper fitness and skill development. Early in 2013, Melissa Zigmont, a teacher at Newtown High School contacted GK Elite Sportswear with a request that she hoped would bring some joy back to her students' lives in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.  With the faculty, staff, and community trying to promote healing in any and every way, Ms. Zigmont had the idea of a competition leotard for the Newtown Varsity Gymnastics Team that could somehow pay tribute to the children of Sandy Hook Elementary School.  Her idea was a competition gymnastics leotard with "S H E S" down the left sleeve.  A simple, yet moving tribute that the gymnasts could display during competition at home and away meets.

GK was eager to help with the hope-filled project of Ms. Zigmont.  Marian Wanner, GK Gymnastics Customer Service Supervisor, contacted Ms. Zigmont and the two worked together to create a new competitive gymnastics leotard in the Newtown High School colors with the essential customization of the sleeve.

GK's Mystique & Velvet Long Sleeve Gymnastics Leotard 5830ST was the perfect choice. Created with Sapphire Velvet and Gold Mystique fabric, the leotard was perfect for the Newtown High School colors and Marian hustled to the warehouse to check the in stock inventory.  After pulling the necessary leotards, "Newtown" was embroidered on the front chest in Gold Glimmer thread.  Finally, the most poignant feature of this very special leotard was applied, the initials S H E S on the upper left sleeve in Royal Sequinz.  This simple gesture, as it sparkles at competitions this season, will not only be a gentle reminder of the countless lives that were changed that December day, but will also be an enduring tribute to the glimmer of hope always remains. 

The varsity gymnasts of Newtown were very excited to receive these one-of-a-kind leotards. Ms. Zigmont said, "Thank you GK Elite Sportswear for creating a competition leotard for the Newtown High School Varsity Gymnastics Team.  Your donation was very generous and thoughtful."

Champion Gymnastics Academy started off their optional season at the Gymnastics in Paradise Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii, January 11-13, 2013.  Before the season, the gym had ordered new long sleeve GK gymnastics leotards for the team, but kept the design under wraps.  GK boxes arrived at the Stockton, California Gymnastics Facility much to the delight of the athletes.  Jennifer Krause, owner of Champion Gymnastics, said, "Our team had no idea what leotards we selected for the optional season, so it was a total surprise.  They were really excited to see all of the sparkly jewels on them.  They are really pretty!"

Champion Gymnastics chose GK's Dramatic Bodice Detail Competition Leotard 7553 featuring a classic neckline.  Next, three beautiful shades of blue fabric were chosen for the leotard, Electric Turquoise Mystique, Columbia Blue Sparkle & Radiant Royal Sparkle.  Champion modified the sleeves, taking them up to 3/4 sleeves and adding a turned-up hem.  The bodice design was then dramatized with hundreds of clear SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS on the front and back of the leotard.  The final touch - a jeweled GK logo! Valeria's team leotard is GK's Sleek Swirl Gymnastics Leotard 7517 from the 2012 Special Order collection.  Her gym chose Black Mystique and Berry Mesh fabrics for the long sleeve leotard with Berry Mystique swirls accenting the bodice and back.  Brilliance SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS were used to create sparkling swirls on the Black Mystique and were also added to the berry swirls, neckline, and cuffs.

The Gymnastics Wizards are on a roll this season with Level 4 winning 1st place at the Florida State Championship, Level 2 also winning 1st place, Level 3 winning 2nd place, and Level 5 taking third place.  Good luck with the rest of your season!  Keep us posted!

Revolution Sports Center in Pocatello, Idaho is home to Team Revolution which is a competitive artistic, trampoline & tumbling team that competes regionally, nationally and internationally.  Team Revolution has qualified athletes to every level of the US National Team: Senior Elite National, Junior Elite National, World Age Group, Olympic Development Program, and JumpStart National Teams. 

When Team Revolution needs a new gymnastics leotard, they count on GK for a custom design that reflects their artistry, power, and uniqueness.  This season's competition gymnastics leotard for the women is a study in what custom design and custom jeweling can do.  Starting with a classic Black Mystique Long Sleeved Gymnastics Leotard similar to GK's V-Neck Long Sleeve Mystique Gymnastics Leotard 5837ST, Team Revolution added an intricate scrolling design over the front, back, and upper sleeves of the leotard using Green Apple Mystique fabric and brilliance SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS - a LOT of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.
