The Final Summer 2010 episode of the hit gymnastics television show Make It or Break It sounds like must see TV! The show will guest star Gymnastics Coaching great Béla Károlyi. He will play the father of The Rock coach Sasha Beloff.

As part of the festivities at the USA Gymnastics National Congress and Tradeshow, GK Elite sponsored a Design a Leotard Contest. Applicants were able to show their design skills by sketching and coloring thier own custom gymnastics apparel. They could even add jewels and embellishments to make their designs shine!
Prizes were awarded each day of Congress to participants in different age groups. Winners received GK gift certificates and clothing prizes. One Lucky Grand Prize Winner will receive their Custom Design Gymnastics Leotard made especially for them.
The 2010 Grand Prize Winner was Macy Toronjo from Huntsville Texas and Texas Dreams Gymnastics in Coppell TX.

Gymnastics Super-coach Béla Károlyi will guest star on the hit gymnastics television show Make It or Break It for its final summer season episode, Tuesday August 31st. Béla will play the father of The Rock coach Sasha Belov. Will Béla come to The Rock to offer advice to the gymnasts?
Coach Károlyi is an institution in gymnastics. He rose to fame in the 1970's after coaching Romanian Gymnast Nadia Comăneci to perfect 10's in the 1976 Olympics. He moved to the United States in the 1980's, and coached Mary Lou Retton in 1984, as well as the US National Team through1996. He and his wife Marta (today's National Team Coach) remain active in American Gymnastics and operate a Gymnastics Ranch outside of Houston Texas.
Coach Károlyi was recently in Hartford, CT attending the USA-Gymnastics National Congress and 2010 Visa Championships, where the 2000 US Women's National Gymnastics team was officially honored with their Bronze Medals.

The 2 Gymnasts took part of the OPEN FITNESS & AEROBIC CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 in Switzerland. Their Club is Aerosport Club Wollereau (ASCW). Their names are LIZ & LUNA.
There were 2 Competitions
1) Women's Mini-Division (6/10 years old) category B
Placements in 2 Categories = One NATIONAL : LIZ – 2nd place & LUNA 5th place. One OPEN : LIZ – 6th place & LUNA 9th place.
2) Sport Aerobic Team mini Division category B – 2 gymnasts together Placement National = LIZ + LUNA : 1st place.

All of our girls compete in the 'Mystique Curls' leotard, and we have used this as our team competitive leotard for the past 2 years. Our kids compete in Acrobatic Gymnastics; we actually have 3 teams that have qualified and will be attending the Region 3 Championships on June 19th in New Orleans.
Our gym is not like many others, we teach to 'special needs' children. One of our competitive teams is a brother and sister combo (both with special needs), which will be one of the teams competing at Regionals. They just recently placed 1st at the Texas State Championship and they have been competing with the 'Regular Contenders' from the beginning. Our other two teams are also 2nd and 3rd place Texas State winners, with one team already qualifying for the Junior Olympic Natinal Championships.
To see the faces of these girls when they put their gk leotards on is extrodinary. You can just see a light switch turn on in them as if 'normal kid off-super star kid on'. I greatly enjoy working with these kids and watching them perform and grow as gymnast. Thanks gk for soaking confidence into every leo.

Former GK endorsee and America’s more decorated gymnast, Shannon Miller, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education on Friday, March 19. This induction is due to her work as an accomplished athlete and as an advocate for a healthy, physically active and balanced life.
Previously, she was the only female athlete to be inducted in the US Olympic Hall of fame twice on as an Individual in 2006 and one for Team in 2008. Among her career highlights, she has won 59 international and 49 national competition medals, including nine world and seven Olympic medals. She is the only U.S. gymnast to win two World all-around titles. Her tally of five medals (two silver, three bronze) at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, was the most medals won by a U.S. athlete and matches the mark set by Mary Lou Retton for the most medals won by a U.S. gymnast at a single Games. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Ga., she was part of the “Magnificent Seven” that won the USA’s first-ever team Olympic gold medal, as well as won the balance beam gold medal. Also, we can not forget that Shannon had her very own GK Elite Leotard Collection for Several years. She had laid the foundation for other signature collections for other star gymnasts such as Carly Patterson, Nastia Liukin, and Shawn Johnson.
