GK proudly sponsored The Nastia Liukin Cup for the fourth consecutive year.  This year's competition took place on Friday, March 1st, at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts after an exciting lead up of qualifying competitions as part of the Nastia Liukin Cup Series.  A select number of gymnasts from each invitational advanced to the Nastia Liukin Cup.  Alex McMurtry of Midlothian, Virginia/Richmond Olympiad Gymnastics, won the all-around title Friday night after an exciting come-from-behind finish. This was McMurty's third straight Nastia Liukin Cup appearance, but this year she posted a 38.450 for the win.  Aja-Monet Sims of Clermont, Florida/Brandy Johnson's, 38.175, and Samantha Partyka of Katy, Texas/Champions Gymnastics Academy, 38.075, took second and third. 

GK was excited to provide each participant with a Nastia Liukin-designed tank leotard, competition leotard, and warm-up. For training, participants received a GK tank gymnastics leotard with a classic neck line and elegant strappy back. The workout leotards were either Berry Slither with Black Mystique applique and binding, or Black Mystique with Berry Slither applique and binding.  The competition leotard followed suit with equally classic styling.  Each long sleeved leotard was either Berry Slither with Black Mystique applique or Black Mystique with Berry Slither applique.  All of the leotards were perfectly finished with the GK Nastia Liukin logo.

The athletes received a beautiful Black Velvet and Silver Mystique warm up jacket and coordinating black velvet warm-up pant.  The back of the warm up jacket was embellished with the Nastia Liukin Cup name and logo.

Proceeds from the event go to the Nastia Liukin Fund, a charitable fund within the National Gymnastics Foundation with the goal of partnering with fitness-oriented programs for young people and supporting clubs that aid athletes who need financial assistance to remain or become involved in gymnastics.

Just a few months out from London 2012, the 2013 AT&T American Cup marked the official kick off on the road to Rio 2016.  What a great place to debut the National Team's new gymnastics apparel by Under Armour manufactured by GK Elite Sportswear.  GK was very excited to debut the result of their first creative design collaboration with Under Armour.  The National Team Athletes & Coaches stepped out in Under Armour warm-ups, training apparel, & competition wear.  Also debuting at the American Cup was Katelyn Ohashi of Plano, Texas/WOGA in her first time on the international stage as a senior member of the national team - and she sealed the deal by winning the all-around.

As part of its ongoing support of the sport of gymnastics, GK supplied the participants of USA Gymnastics T&T JumpStart program with gymnastics apparel for their January 12-13th camp at the Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas.  The JumpStart Program "identifies future elite athletes at a young age and educates their coaches on proper fitness and skill development. Lone Mountain Gymnastics in Bozeman, Montana is home to a competitive gymnastics team boasting athletes from Levels 4 through 10.  Recently, Josh Burnham, Director of LMG's Levels 5-10 sent us some pictures of his athletes in their new GK Special Order Fitted Warm-Ups saying, "Our GK warm-ups are fantastic!  All the girls love them.  Thank you GK, for everything."

The athletes from Dynamo Gymnastics in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma sported new GK gymnastics leotards and warm-ups at the 2012 Trojan Classic hosted by Jenks Gymnastics in Jenks, Oklahoma.

In 2007, The Kendrick Kippettes were established as Philadelphia's very first non-profit, USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic gymnastics program providing a gymnastic opportunity for inner-city and urban-based children.  The city-subsidized program thrives on fundraising, stipends, grants, and the unending support and guidance of Kendrick Recreation Center Supervisor, Bill Malizia, and Program Director, Janette Santore.

The Junior National Developmental Gymnastics Team attended a special camp at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 16-20, 2012.  Dusty Ritter, JO Program Manager, directed the camp assisted by members of the USA Gymnastics Jr. National Coaching Staff.  Twenty-eight gymnasts, ages 10-13, were invited from the Future Stars Championship/Evaluation that was held this past fall.  All athletes at the camp were outfitted with GK Gymnastics Warm Ups designating them as 2012 Team Members.

MyKayla Skinner, a senior international elite gymnast, trusts GK Elite to deliver the best quality and comfort when she competes.  At just fourteen years old, MyKayla was the youngest gymnast in the Senior division at the 2012 VISA Championships this June in St. Louis, Missouri.  Despite her young age, MyKayla performed terrifically, winning 15^th in the all-around and 3^rd on the vault! 

MyKayla trains at Desert Lights Gymnastics in Chandler, Arizona and is coached by Lisa Spini, Neela Nelson, Bruce McGehee, Bob Peterson and Chris George.  In March, she represented the USA team at the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy where she placed 10^th in the all-around, 5^th on the vault, and 4^th in the floor exercise.

With the overwhelming majority of athletes wearing GK gymnastic leotards at the 2012 Visa Championships, it was as if the GK Competitive Catalog came to life.  On display and in action were a dizzying array of gymnastics leotard styles, necklines, fabrics, colors, and sparkle illustrating the Infinite Possibilities that GK offers. Logan C., 4 years old, is a GK Everyday Champion who has been taking gymnastics for a little over a year.  He is enrolled in KinderGym at Parkettes Gymnastics in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  Logan's favorite activities are the foam pit and trampoline.  He recently completed the Spring Session and was very proud of his medal and certificate.  Logan is also a GK model and can be seen in our GKids promotions.

With equal parts pressure and excitement, Nastia returned to the world of competitive gymnastics on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Secret U.S. Classic.  The cheering was deafening before and after her beautiful beam routine for which she won 3rd place!  While we wait the long two weeks for the Visa Championships - let's talk about what else the fans were waiting for - what would Nastia wear?

Pink GK, of course!  Nastia and the entire WOGA team sported a beautifully classic GK, Neckline Binding Gymnastics Leotard 4856, customized with Berry Mesh, Berry Mystique, and Silver Mystique fabrics.  The long sleeve leotard shimmered with brilliant SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS embellishing the curved bodice, scoop back, and the lower sleeve from elbow to wrist. 

The WOGA team was equally stylish in between events in their Striped Fitted Warm Up Jackets 8790 made of White Brushed Tricot and Black Mystique.  The WOGA logo shimmered on the back of the warm up jacket with black SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.
