BREAKING NEWS - ALEXANDRA RAISMAN SIGNS WITH GK!

GK is thrilled to announce the addition of Alexandra Raisman to its elite list of endorsed athletes!

Just 17-years-old, Raisman is a three year member of the U.S. National Gymnastics Team, having most recently contributed to the team's Gold Medal at the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy on March 31, 2012.  Raisman captured second place in the Individual All Around at the same event.  Raisman currently resides in her hometown of Needham, Massachusetts where she trains at Brestyan’s American Gymnastics under Head Coach, Mihai Brestyan.

As a GK Endorsed Athlete, Raisman joins a select group of gymnastic champions, past and present, who choose GK.  Raisman will beautifully sport GK gymnastics apparel at events, grace GK catalogs, and will promote GK across social media and advertising campaigns.

“We are thrilled to have Alexandra Raisman join our prestigious list of endorsed athletes, " said Kelly McKeown, Executive Vice President of Corporate Relations & Design.  "She is a dynamic and talented gymnast with a bright future.  We look forward to the exciting year ahead with Aly!”

Raisman caught the gymnastics bug at 2 years old when she attended a “Mommy & Me” class.  That class sparked the beginning of a championship career in the making, having yet to hit its pinnacle.  Raisman’s current goal is to make the 2012 Olympic Team and represent the U.S. in London this summer.  Having made steady progress over her three years on the National Team, with a stellar year in 2011, Raisman has been adding to her national and international medal count and gaining the experience necessary to successfully compete at the Olympic level.  Prior to the Jesolo event, Raisman took Silver in the All Around at the 2012 AT&T American Cup.  She was a member of the Gold winning team at the 2011 World Championships, taking an individual Bronze medal for Floor as well.  She also won the Bronze All Around at the 2011 Visa Championships.  Raisman used to watch her gymnastic idols on television and dream, now she competes alongside them proving that dreams can, and do, come true with talent, hard work, and determination.

Currently a senior in high school, Raisman cites science as her favorite subject and her hobbies include shopping, spending time with family and friends, and hot yoga!   She was one of three recipients of the 2011 Pearl D. Mazor Outstanding Female Jewish High School Scholar–Athlete of the Year Award given on behalf of the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.  Her parents are Richard, a former hockey and baseball player, and Lynn, a former high school gymnast.  She is the oldest of the four children in her family and now that she can drive, she is responsible for chauffeuring her siblings around, at least part-time!

Welcome to the GK Family, Alexandra!
