LaKova Gymnastics in Cornelius, North Carolina offers gymnastics classes for tots to advanced gymnasts.  Recently, the athletes debuted new special order GK leotards at their first meet.  They posted a photo on GK's Facebook wall saying, "Thank you GK for the beautiful leotards for LaKova Gymnastics! We thought we wouldn't get them in time because of Hurricane Sandy - BUT, we did!  The Team Girls were awarded a 1st place Bronze at their first meet!"

After months of negotiations, Elite Sportswear and adidas were unable to come to a mutually agreeable renewal of our global licensing agreement.  While the former partnership was successful and positive, the two companies could not agree on mutual goals for the future of their relationship.

What does that mean for Elite Sportswear’s customers?

Effective immediately, Elite Sportswear is unable to process any new orders for adidas stock or special order merchandise and after December 31, 2012, will be unable to accept any re-orders or fill-ins.

We sincerely apologize for the late notice, however, due to extended contract negotiations with adidas and contractual confidentiality agreements, we were not able to give more advance notice.

In an attempt to minimize any negative impact on our customers, we made a conscious decision not to introduce any new adidas styles in our 2012-13 In Stock and Competitive catalogs, and instructed our sales reps to encourage their customers to re-order early.  We realize we may not have reached all of you.

Although it is unfortunate that a renewal was not successful, we are more excited about the future than ever.  More people are choosing GK than ever before.  We feel that we have the most well-rounded and stylish leotard collections in the company’s history.  We are proud to have Olympic champions Gabrielle Douglas and Alexandra Raisman as our newest endorsed athletes, and our customer service rankings have been outstanding.

In 2007, The Kendrick Kippettes were established as Philadelphia's very first non-profit, USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic gymnastics program providing a gymnastic opportunity for inner-city and urban-based children.  The city-subsidized program thrives on fundraising, stipends, grants, and the unending support and guidance of Kendrick Recreation Center Supervisor, Bill Malizia, and Program Director, Janette Santore. 

At Kendrick, gymnastics instructors dedicate a multitude of volunteer hours to ensure that gymnasts have the opportunity to acquire a heightened sense of self-confidence, tenacity, perseverance, accountability, and the capacity to nurture healthy relationships with peers, program leaders, and contributing members of the community.  The result has been the delivery of a boundless experience across athletic challenges, healthy competition, relationship management, a results-driven culture, and goal-oriented curriculum. 

The Kippettes currently train gymnasts who compete across USAG levels 3-9 and a Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Competitive Gymnastics program.  In addition, Kendrick provides safe and healthy gymnastics instruction to more than 150 recreational participants. The first Team USA competition leotard to makes its debut in London was a stunning pink creation!  It wasn't so much a matter of if the Team would wear pink, but when.  The soon to be Fierce Five sported these beautiful pink gymnastic leotards when they first hit the Olympic floor for podium training.

With the overwhelming majority of athletes wearing GK gymnastic leotards at the 2012 Visa Championships, it was as if the GK Competitive Catalog came to life.  On display and in action were a dizzying array of gymnastics leotard styles, necklines, fabrics, colors, and sparkle illustrating the Infinite Possibilities that GK offers. McKayla Maroney is best known for her World Champion vault skills but, at the 2012 Visa Championships she gave everyone something else to talk about - the flowers on both her Day One and Day Two custom GK gymnastics leotards!

As of the Women's Final on June 10th, the U.S. National Team is set and very soon Marta and the Selection Committee will tap the Fierce Five for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team.  The Chaifetz Arena on the campus of St. Louis University could barely contain the amount of athletic talent and gymnastic artistry that made up the 2012 Visa Championships.  The Arena also served as the Fashion House of GK Gymnastic Leotards proving, once again, that GK is the Choice of Champions.  Why?  Because champions know that GK gymnastic leotards are the best because of fit as well as fashion.

GK Everyday Champion Abby P. is a Level 8 Gymnast who trains at Flytz Gymnastics in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  She was the 2012 Level 7 State Champion on Floor Exercise, 3rd on Vault, 3rd on Beam, and 3rd All Around. Dear Ms. Johnson:

Hello, I am Abby.  I am 13 years old and am interested in one of your products.  I am writing to you about your GK leotards.  I like this product for so many reasons, but I chose three favorites.  I enjoy your leotards because they are comfortable, designed great, and very durable.

The leotards your company makes are great because they do not shrink or get too tight.  The material is very nice, soft, and easy to move around in.  I would and have recommended this product because of its great quality.  I own many of these leotards and practice in them for long hours, but have not yet encountered or noticed any scratching or something that bothers me during my practice.  Like I said, I practice in these leotards for long hours into the evening, and feel very comfortable in the fabric.

Cincinnati Gymnastics sent five awesome athletes to the US Secret Classic last weekend and they made their presence known.  With two seniors and three juniors competing, Cincinnati Gymnastics racked up an impressive medal count. Competing and winning for Cincinnati Gymnastics were Seniors Amanda Jetter (8th FX, 10th AA) and Brianna Brown (7th AA).  The Juniors from Cincinnati included Lexie Priessman (1st FX, 3 BB, 4th AA, 5th UB, 6th VT) and Amelia Hundley, who, in addition to her 3rd All-Around win, took home 2nd on BB, 3rd on VT and UB (T) and 4th on floor.  Also representing Cincinnati at the Classis was Alexis Beucler, who is in her first year of Elite competition. 

Sporting GK's Interlaced Swirl Gymnastics Leotard 9555 gave the athletes from Ohio a champion look.  The custom fabric choices of Black, Gold Leaf, and Cherry Mystique proved to be a winning combination.

With equal parts pressure and excitement, Nastia returned to the world of competitive gymnastics on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Secret U.S. Classic.  The cheering was deafening before and after her beautiful beam routine for which she won 3rd place!  While we wait the long two weeks for the Visa Championships - let's talk about what else the fans were waiting for - what would Nastia wear?

Pink GK, of course!  Nastia and the entire WOGA team sported a beautifully classic GK, Neckline Binding Gymnastics Leotard 4856, customized with Berry Mesh, Berry Mystique, and Silver Mystique fabrics.  The long sleeve leotard shimmered with brilliant SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS embellishing the curved bodice, scoop back, and the lower sleeve from elbow to wrist. 

The WOGA team was equally stylish in between events in their Striped Fitted Warm Up Jackets 8790 made of White Brushed Tricot and Black Mystique.  The WOGA logo shimmered on the back of the warm up jacket with black SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.

GK congratulates the winners of the 2012 US Secret Classic this past weekend in Chicago, Illinois.  Excitement filled the UIC Pavilion at the University of Illinois as the top contenders for London 2012 showcased the best of the sport of gymnastics.  In the end, three athletes rose to the top of the medal stand.  Aly Raisman won the all-around Gold, posting a score of 60.350.  First year senior, Kyla Ross, took Silver with a score of 59.800 and rounding out the top three was Kennedy Baker, also a first year senior, with a score of 56.800.

With just 59 days until the Olympics, the excitement and competition will only grow in intensity. The debates will rage on and scores will be analyzed and reanalyzed.  For now, let's enjoy celebrating the senior all-around medalists and talk about the awesome GK gymnastic leotards they wore for this important competition. 

Aly Raisman beautifully defended her Secret Classic title in a stunning custom GK 3/4 sleeve gymnastics leotard that echoes the design of In Stock Workout Tank Leotard 3685 and the color combination of Cascading Ribbon Gymnastics Leotard 7557A01.  Aly's v-neck competition gymnastics leotard is made of Sangria Mystique, Berry Mesh, and Berry Mystique embellished with Clear SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS on the sleeves and Clear and Fuchsia SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS on the front. 

Kyla Ross chose a beautiful special order GK gymnastics leotard for her debut as a senior.  Kyla's Wrapping Ribbon Gymnastics Leotard 9566 is a boat neckline competitive gymnastics leotard with wrapping ribbons across bodice and back.  It is made of Black Mystique, Berry Mesh, White Sparkle, Berry Mystique, and Princess Pink Sparkle.  It has a White Sparkle underlay under sleeves and shimmers with Brilliance SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. 

Taking the Bronze medal home to Texas, Kennedy Baker, also a first year senior, shown in a custom GK long sleeve gymnastics leotard worn by the Texas Dreams athletes.  The teams designed a classic boat neckline competitive gymnastics leotard made of White Mesh, Rich Royal Mystique, Columbia Blue Sparkle, White Mystique, and Gun Metal Mystique embellished with scattered Brilliance SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS.  For a look similar to Kennedy's check out GK's Striking Wave Competition Gymnastics Leotard 9546A02.

Julie L. is a GK Everyday Champion who competes at Level I for 15-16 year olds in France.  She trains at the prestigious Les Jeunes de Chéreng gymnastics facility.  2012 marks the 90th anniversary of the Gymnastics Club that is now headed by Jean-Louis Decalonne.
