Last Friday the Future Stars of Mens Gymnastics competed in USA-Gymnastics Future Stars National Championships at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs Colorado. As a long time supported of USA-Gymnastics development programs, GK again dontated Gymnastics Warm Up Suits to all participants (Athletes and coaches) at the event!

The Future Stars program is designed is to identify talented athletes and to get them started on the right developmental path to national and international success. The program uses a special competitive routine format to evaluate the skill, strength and flexibility development of the athlete.

The Future Stars National Championships features the USA’s best 10-, 11- and 12-year-olds in the United States who perform special Future Stars competitive routines. Based on the results at the championships, USA Gymnastics identifies the Future Stars Developmental Team, which includes the top 18 gymnasts in both the 10- and 11-year-old divisions and 14 gymnasts in the 12-year-old division. The top nine athletes in the 10- and 11-year-old divisions and the top seven athletes in the 12-year-old division will be invited to a special Future Stars camp to be held at the USOTC next summer.
The Future Stars National Championships are held in conjunction with the National Coaches Workshop, the premier educational event for the men’s program. In addition to the competition, Future Stars athletes and their parents will be able to participate in workshop activities that feature lectures, technical presentations, and hands-on coaching sessions. Presenters include Junior National Coaching Staff members, National Team coaches, sports science personnel, USOC staff and special guests.

Olympic Gold Medalists Nastia Liukin, Nadia Commaneci and Bart Connor took a side trip in Denmark to Hermes Gymnastics Academy. Hermes is the home of the Danish Champion Team, who competed at the most recent European Championships. At GK, we are happy because they are a GK gym, as seen in the GK Leotards and gymnastics shorts worn by their gymnasts.

In 2008 GK introduced to the Gymnastics world a new Mens gymnastics compression shirt that has met with rave reviews. Before this shirt, the options for mens gymnastics were limited to mens comp shirts (essentially a leotard for guys), gymnastics shorts and gymnastics pants. And for Competition, these garments are the only "legal" options, according to FIG rules - if an event is FIG sanctioned.

2009 Men’s Junior Olympic National Championships May 6-10 at the Duke Energy Center - Cincinnati, OH. Sycamore Township-based Queen City Gymnastics and the Greater Cincinnati Sports Corporation in Sharonville were awarded the prestigious hosting honor. The competition will host more than 800 gymnasts and their coaches.

The Men’s Junior Olympic Age Group Competition Program provides training and competitive opportunities for beginner to elite gymnasts from ages 5 to 18.
The Junior Olympic Program is organized into 10 different levels of training or competition. Each level has multiple age groups and opportunities for participation and competition. Competition is carried out at the local, state, regional and national levels through USA Gymnastics sanctioned invitational meets and championship level meets. For Levels IX and X, the season culminates at the Men’s Junior Olympic National Championships held in May of each year. For elite level athletes, the culminating event is the USA Gymnastics National Championships.

GK Leotard Fit Specialist – For a Perfect Fit
GK's full-time Fit Specialist (Monica Beaky - Pictured above reviewing a GK Competitive Long Sleeve Leotard) checks each style for construction, fabric and fit. Great care is taken to assure that our fit is not only a cut above the competition, but also that our customers can order with confidence, knowing that no matter what fabric or design they choose, the fit will be the same. No garment is produced until it has been fit tested and approved. In addition, all GK garments are inspected for quality before being shipped. Inspectors check all parts of a garment to ensure that our customers receive top quality apparel every time.
Live Models
GK employs Live Models - many of them gymnasts themselves to test the fit of each Leotard. These fit models are brought in on a daily basis to fit new styles, new fabrics, custom designs, special orders, etc. Our models try on every single style in every possible fabric combination, to be sure that no matter what our customers order - from stock workout leos to custom competition apparel - it fits right every time. GK insists on live models because our customers require a garment that can stand up to their sport, and still fit well and look gorgeous. Our fit models give us their feedback on how the garment moves with them when they stretch and bend, which gives us the opportunity to evaluate how the garment will perform in motion.
Women and Men - Boys and Girls
Gymnastics Leotards fity on many body types. So we also do the same. There is a world of difference between a Level 2 and a Level 9. We have to make sure that the styles will fit all Body Types. That means even mens leotards, comp shirts, shorts and pants are also tested.
